NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. At this time, hospitality venues in England are not allowed to open but can operate takeaway and delivery services, providing that any takeaway alcohol is pre-ordered. Details of takeaway and delivery services may appear on this page if we become aware of them.

Before visiting any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

High ceilinged, well furnished, wood-panelled lounge bar with sash windows. The first floor restaurant can be hired for functions. Originally licensed in 1765, it was destroyed by a V2 in 1944 and rebuilt in 1958 when it was renamed after a late Georgian architect to the then owners, Whitbread. Traditional pub food is served during lunchtimes and afternoons such as fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and ham, egg and chips. The pub is located opposite the Duke Street entrance of Selfridge's and hence not far from the other shops of Oxford Street. One real ale handpump.
