At this time, hospitality venues in England are not allowed to open but can operate takeaway and delivery services, providing that any takeaway alcohol is pre-ordered. Details of takeaway and delivery services may appear on this page if we become aware of them.

Before visiting any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

Ram Pub Company (Young's)

About the Pub

Two-room pub rebuilt by Young’s in 1961 to replace its WWII bomb-damaged but patched up predecessor only then, in 1981, to have all its windows shattered by an IRA bomb in an army bus passing by!

The front bar was opened out in 1988. Low ceilinged, part wood-panelled and featuring an attractive fireplace, often used for real fires on winter evenings, the bar is furnished with a mixture of high tables and stools and good-sized dining tables with chairs and upholstered benches. Old prints and mirrors adorn the walls. At the panelled wood-topped bar three beers from Young's/Wells are usually on offer. A dart board is available at the fireplace end of the bar, except, usually, on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings when league matches take place. Several TV screens show football matches, occasionally different ones at each end of the room!

The back ‘patio room’, separated from the main room by folding doors, has its own bar, is available for functions and hosts a small bridge club on Mondays.

There is a menu of pub classics and sharing platters at reasonable prices for the area. The food includes a Burger Singh franchise offering Indian fusion burgers. The pub website now states that breakfast is available from 9am on weekdays and brunch from 10am at weekends, though the venue stated opening hours vary from this. Note that under the terms of the licence alcohol is not available before 10am Monday to Saturday or noon on Sunday.
