NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
Next door to the Lyceum Theatre and named after Sir Arthur Wellesley who was raised to the title Duke of Wellington after defeating Napoleon's Armies at Waterloo in 1815. The pub was originally founded in 1846 near to the site of the English Opera House (also known as the Theatre Royal and the original Lyceum Theatre, and now the Lyceum Tavern) which was destroyed by fire in 1830. The current ornately faced building dates from 1903 and consists of a long narrow split level bar featuring ceiling mouldings in salmon pink with gilded highlights. At the end of the room mirrors set in marble effect surrounds reflect the light from the chandeliers. Upstairs is a large and plush comfortable restaurant with bar, whilst outside there's a large seating area along the Wellington Street frontage. Both levels of the bar have banks of handpumps but not all beers are duplicated and there are usually some interesting offerings in addition to the usual banker brands.
Note that the licence stipulates that alcohol is not available until noon on Sundays.
