NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
UPDATE 14/07/2020: The pub is now open again, but the details here will need to be updated in due course - sorry for any inconvenience.
Initially, the pub is serving three real ales, Dartmoor Legend and Jail Ale, and Sharp's Doom Bar. Food is not currently available, but please see the pub's Facebook page for the latest information.
UPDATE 24 March 2020: The pub was purchased on 31st January 2020 by David Michelmore, who has commenced a full pub refurbishment. It is planned to re-open as a Local's local again, complete with a selection of real ales. The details given below will be incorrect. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 crisis, the pub remained closed closed until 04/07/2020.
A traditional two-roomed pub with simple cob walls and real fires. The local favourite, Dartmoor Jail Ale, is accompanied by three wide-ranging guest ales, occasional draught ciders, and up to 8 bottled ciders. Simple pub food is available daily except Tuesday. Although situated in the foothills of Dartmoor, the pub's name is actually a corruption of Montain, the name of an old local landowner. An annual beer festival is held. Bus service is daytime only, not Sun. The pub was listed as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) on 1/8/13 by South Hams District Council. Sadly, the pub closed on 26/8/14 on the retirement of the landlady.
