About the Pub

Freehold bought by Brent Council - will this lead to a pub returning? Or just for more housing?? There is lots of housing development around Harlesden Picture Palace site. Newly formed Harlesden Neighbourhood forum want to get it listed as an ACV-

Picture Palace Harlesden now sealed up with metal sheeting, so closure looks even more permanent. 13/8/19 Muhammed Butt, local councillor and leader of Brent Council contacted Antic pubs on twitter to ask about status - "Harlesden residents are very concerned about the sad state of @HarlesdenPP." Antic pubs confirmed on twitter on 15/8/19 that "the lease at Harlesden Picture Palace has been surrendered to JD Wetherspoon, who is the freeholder."

Antic announced in April that, "We have decided to temporarily close the Picture Palace as we do not believe that the offer is quite right and the business is so off the pace that it needs a rethink. It has lost money hand over fist since we opened and whilst we are not adverse to taking such things on the chin, We now need to consolidate whilst we work out what to do next. Be assured that this is not a decision that we have taken lightly and the need for it is as disappointing for us as it will no doubt be for the good people that have supported the HPP. Please follow @HarlesdenPP on Twitter for the latest developments and we hope to welcome you back through the doors in the not too distant future."

A former cinema which became a Wetherspoons and then the Misty Moon. Opened by Antic on 21 May 2015. It is still possible to imagine the cinema that was once here. Work is supposedly taking place on the kitchen with the intention of providing food. At first had up to three guest beers, including from their house brewery, Volden. However, in July only one handpump was in operation, albeit dispensing a fine drop of York Terrier. A terrace leads into a front section which after the partitions leads into the larger back room where there's lots of table seating and a stage.
