About the Pub

Update - December 2019 - New Twitter and Instagram accounts set up for The Palm. Note on Instagam: "Public house, formerly The Lord Palmerston, opening 12th December 2019" Twitter: "Some of the beautiful features of this amazing old building, rediscovered during the building works."

Note - as at March 2019, "went by lord palmerston N 15 thursday am chalk sign on corner saying we are open beer £3.00 a pint"

Previously - walked up to the Lord Palmerston and it looked thoroughly closed, hastily boarded up, some broken windows, looked intact inside. The most optimistic interpretation would be that the new regime reported a year or two back are about to undertake works. But perhaps they’ve already abandoned it?

NOTE - our local spy reports, "It's been bought by Shoreditch Bars Group, in what seems quite a surprising move. Will report back if I hear anything more. The beer selection is currently terrible (slightly worse than before, as they at least used to have bottles of Redemption), but the nice new manager apparently has plans."

Former Truman pub dating from 1857. Two bar layout. The pub's current incarnation was built in the 1930s for Truman, Hanbury & Buxton by A. E. Sewell.
