NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
Closed as the Joker due to reopen as Day & Night. The hours shown are from their website. It is advertising itself as, "Independent Cafe / Bar /Radio".
A little way up Penton Street and on the corner of Chapel Market (a street and a market), reopened in June 2009 retaining on the outside its original impressive Courage brown tiling and sign. Changed ownership in 2013 and its name with a lot more building work done. A feature is a huge clock used as part of Oasis's shows, old B&W framed photos, large distressed tables, sofas, bar stools and exposed brickwork. Cask ales were initially given more prominence, featuring beers from Laine's Brighton Brewery plus guests but in Jan 2017 it was reported that all the handpumps had been removed replaced by a "wall of keg". Food is an important part of the pub's offering with an open plan kitchen, simple burgers and pulled pork with a strong emphasis on their sourcing. Food served Mon-Sat 12-10 and Sunday roasts from noon. Comedy will feature as the non-musical form of entertainment, and the upstairs space offers additional seating and will also play host to feature performances from "national stand-up talent". Interesting music played over the PA. The pub faces South, so weather permitting, six large outside tables get sunshine all day. Regular Wednesday pub quiz.
